For the first time in 8 years Robby and I did not make our annual trip to NYC and instead ventured a few hours further north to Boston. Two of my best friends live in the city - One has been finishing up her PhD for the past couple of years at Tufts University and the other recently made the big move from NYC to Boston, so we had plenty of reasons to change location for the year.
We had beautiful weather while in town - I mean it was in the teens & freezing... so we couldn't really feel our fingers and toes most of the time but that's what coffee and booze is for. We planned in advance to go see the Boston Ballet Nutcracker and it did not disappoint. As a dancer growing up I've been in and seen hundreds of Nutcrackers and now anytime I watch it live my body involuntarily moves to the music and makes me want to jump on stage. For the sake of everyone else, I stayed in my seat but you better believe I was dancing the whole time.
The rest of the weekend was spent exploring the Freedom Trail, Harvard Yard, Quincy Market, charming Back Back & Beacon Hill and last but not least, North End. While in North End, we, of course, had to preform a taste test between Mike's & Moderns canoli's - all I can say is YUM...
The trip was short and sweet but Boston is such a small, big city that we really squeezed in a lot for the weekend. I can't wait to go back this summer!
Enjoy the shots from the trip. Lane
