During our last 24 hours or so in Cambodia we had some debrief time to begin acclimating back to normal life. If you've ever been on a GLOBALX trip you understand the importance of these 24 hours. It prepares you mentally and spiritually to get back to the real world. While you are actively in it, it may seem unnecessary but after you've arrived back in country and readjusted, you really understand the importance of the day and appreciate the time spent thinking about the weeks activities. This debrief time for us was spent exploring 3 temples in Siem Reap. The world famous Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple & Ta Prohm, along with exploring Pub Street and the day & night markets. We kicked off the temple exploration at 4:30 AM to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat. It was one of those moments where every moment was better than the last and while it was super early and I kept falling asleep on the ride over, it was totally worth the lack of sleep. While we enjoyed Ankor Wat, Robby and I really loved Bayon temple the most. It was a temple of many faces and each was as intricate as the next. We also saw Ta Prohm, the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed. and the way the trees have grown into the buildings is just incredible. As you know, we are returning to Cambodia again this year, but Siem Reap is not on the agenda so we will appreciate the time we had there and try to make it back one day in the future.... because there are over 120 other temples to visit!!
